About Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship
The Former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, launched this scholarship program on May 3, 2003, in New Delhi. Previously, it was the Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme, and now it has been changed to the Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship Scheme. According to this initiative, the Authorities will provide financial help as scholarships, to all the financially unstable meritorious girl students belonging to minority communities.
The Authorities will provide a scholarship of INR 5,000 for Class 9th to 10th annually, and for Class 11th to 12th, the Financial assistance will be INR 6,000 provided directly by the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Process. With the help of this scholarship program, the Authorities will recognize and assist meritorious girl students so that they can continue pursuing their higher education without any financial troubles faced by Girls for education.
Objective of Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship
The main objective behind this Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship is to empower all the girl students from minority communities by providing them financial help and support as a Scholarship so that they can continue to pursue their higher education. According to this scheme, the Government will provide an annual scholarship of INR 5,000 to the girl students studying from class 9th to 10th, and for students studying in class 11th to 12th,
the financial help will be provided up to INR 6,000 through (DBT process. With the help of this initiative, the female students will be able to pursue higher education without any financial issues, and they do not have to depend on anyone for their daily needs and education requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
- Girl Students from six minority communities are eligible, such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains & Parsis.
- Students must be studying from class 9th to 12th with at least 50% Minimum marks obtained in previous exams.
